October through May we are open Monday-Friday, 9:30-5:00 p.m.
May through September we will also be open on Saturdays from 10:00-3:00p.m.

History Wahkiakum County's history is the history of America. From the Native American Kath-la-met tribes to the adventures of Lewis and Clark and the first Scandinavian settlers, Wahkiakum rich and interesting history can be found in every corner of the county. Wahkiakum is a history buff's dream. Where else can you follow the path of Lewis and Clark in a canoe, stay in a 100 year old Bed and Breakfast and explore one of the first settlements in the Pacific Northwest? The landscape, the churches and the town itself remind us of the days when logging and fishing industries sustained the area. Old canneries still line the river, antique stores harbor special treasures and our museum and archive center are must see attractions! Wahkiakum County also boasts the highest number of Lewis and Clark heritage sites. Come explore history in Wahkiakum County!

Snow Falling On Cedars, 1999 Carl, a fisherman in the waters off Washington state, has been found dead, drowned in own nets, but with a serious head wound. Was he murdered? Come See the Paradise, 1991 Portraying one of the shadier details of American history, this is the story of Jack McGurn, who comes to Los Angeles in 1936. "The Spirit of Chief Wahkiakum" This 18-person Trolley car will run tours from the Cathlamet Marina to area attraction including, Skamokawa Kayak & Town Center the Julia-Butler Hansen Wildlife Refuge, Puget Island and will visit many other historical sites and attractions. The beautifully restored Trolley will also be used for tours and shuttle services at our festivals and events and may also be booked privately for your special event!
